SAPI SMALL ARMS PROTECTIVE INSERTS are armor plates that protect against small arms. This type of plates is used in the US Army. We launched this line of plates due to the high number of requests for larger plates, as well as plates that would not only fit our defenders, but women defenders as well. The dimensional grid of these plates allows you to choose armor plates of the most convenient size for you.
Bronze steel
The plates use armor steel of the best manufacturer in the world - the Swedish concern SSAB, Armox Advance with a hardness of 58-63 HRC with a nominal thickness of only 5 mm! The correct processing of this steel allowed us to produce plates corresponding to DSTU class 4 and even a little more - our plate withstands even in the harshest laboratory conditions at least 1 AKM 7.62x39 shot, bullet 57-BZ-231 (armor-piercing incendiary).
Anti-debris properties
We use the lightest materials of our own development to combat the ejection of the core and fragments of the bullet shell. The front part of the armor plate is covered with a special Ukrainian-made ballistic felt, which we additionally laminate with a PVC film to protect against moisture and water. The felt is precisely cut to the size of the slab and applied using a special technology that involves hours of pressing. This ensures a strong bond with the plate, so it does not come off even after 6 shots.
But that's not all. We are constantly moving forward, so we have added another unique development to the plates - side edge processing. This material has a density of 800 kg/m3! Each plate is pressed with side edge processing in a special device and left for one and a half hours. This method allows the fabric to firmly adhere to the metal, making them one whole and significantly reducing the chances of the core flying out when it hits the edge of our armor plate.
Reducing injuries
Behind each of our slabs, we install a damper made of 8 mm thick EVA material with a density of 80 kg/m3. It almost does not deform over time, unlike standard 30-35 kg/m3 density polyethylene foam or rubber cushioning pads, so it performs better in reducing injuries.
"SAPI Extra Small BZ" armor plates are almost not deformed when hit by bullets from sniper rifles, such as SVD.
Shape and size
The size of the armor plate is 190x295 mm, it has an anatomical curve that corresponds to the shape of the chest. Beveled corners of the plate ensure convenient and comfortable use. You will be able to easily and conveniently use these armor plates together with your bulletproof vest.
